Along with Sex And The City, the HBO original series The Sopranos took the planet by surprise in the late-1990s with its cutting edge drama and acerbic wit. A cross between Your Godfather and the standard nuclear show family, the show offered an original experience for a distinct segment audience that quickly progressed into a battery of dedicated supporters. Nominated for countless Emmy's, and champion of at least four in every one of its conditions except Season 2 (in which it carried property one), The Sopranos has cemented itself as one of the elite shows in television history

Wonderful Globe singer James Gandolfini represents the title part of Tony Soprano, a father of two, loving partner, and successful businessman. But despite a typical show, Tony finds himself irritated by his kiddies Anthony and Meadow (Robert Iler and Jamie Lynn Sigler), he cheats on his spouse Carmela (Edie Falco), and the business organization in charge of his success is the mafia (which he is the area boss). All the distress in Tony's life results in substantial levels of anxiety, forcing him to frequently search for a psychologist, Dr. Jennifer Melfi (Lorraine Bracco) - among the few outsiders he trusts. Following a basic prime time soap opera format, very just like the hit TV show Dallas, The Sopranos provides viewers with a glimpse in to the life and times of a chef, where we learn that being fully a mob kingpin is not the style life often represented in the movies

The Sopranos DVD supplies a quantity of dramatic episodes including the self-titled series premiere in which the foundation for the show is set when Tony Soprano visits a therapist in hopes of closing his panic disorder (looks similar to the story for Analyze This!). In his initial session with the beautiful Dr. Melfi, Tony confides in her the demanding aspects of his extraordinary life - a demanding career, an wife, and rebellious children (among other problems) Other notable attacks from Season 1 contain "College" in which Tony takes his daughter on a school orientation trip to Maine where he encounters a former (and present) opponent, and "A Hit is just a Hit" in which Tony moves out when he attempts to create friends outside of his close-knit group
