Child custody has several types, sole custody and joint custody. Only custody suggests one parent gets physical along with legal custody. Joint custody is a different type of child custody, where both parents get the to have a share in making choices for the child. There where the son or daughter reaches stay for many period of time with each of the parent is also a type of joint custody. But, it is stated that this can be a little difficult for the kid.

It is essential that joint custody that both parents are co-operating with each other regarding decision making about the child. It will depend how the divorce proceedings have already been, in the event of a divorce and conflict; it will be greater that sole custody of child is given to a single parent.

It is needed by the state laws that whichever type of custody is awarded, it's necessary that it should be in the needs of the daughter or son.
